Drifting Nomad
314 Carroll St. NW, Washington, DC 20012,
Type: Coffeeshop / Cafe Hours: 7am-8pm Weekdays, 9am-5pm Weekends
Next to the Takoma Metro on the Red Line, this cafe was recently purchased by Ted May. In addition to the new menu, decor, poetry readings, there is also free wireless internet. Great vibes and a friendly staff. Possibly the best coffee on the east coast. Formerly named Savory, now called Drifting Nomad.

Dress Code/But great coffee
I loved the coffe but there was a young man who dress code was not professional..his undees was showing and he had on jeans with no beth....he needs to polish up on his customer service skills....Is there is dress code......when you are working for the public presentation is very important.

The reason their coffee is so tasty...
Ted told me they went through everything and the old coffee machines were very dirty. Apparently the last management never cleaned the machines. He also has access to fair trade and special coffees. Worth a try, I believe some of the best coffee ever.
