It was free for Meeh
I went to the one on the forum in Selma and just parked outside to see if it would work (I just got a laptop)and sure enough it did. I wasn't even inside. But I do have att at home but that's it. I don't have a card or anything so I don't know if it's because I have att at home but it was FREE!!!!!

WHY?
I am new to even understanding WiFi with my new laptop (I know living in the dark ages until now) so reading this about Starbucks confuses me but I am grateful to you folks that clarified it is NOT FREE. I used the SAPL wifi hot spot at the Pan American Library last night in the parking lot. AM I weird?

Free for ATT
Starbucks is free for those customers that subscribe to AT&Ts home internet service (except for ATT Basic Plan).

Only free if you have T-mobile
Free wifi at Starbucks is false advertisement. It is only free if you have T-Mobile.

Why Starbucks will fail
starbucks still hasn't figured out that wifi should be free and their coffee, though good, can be replaced. even mcdonald's premium coffee is a good altermative at about 2/3 the price of starbucks. couple that with pay for the usage of wi-fi, starbucks sucks...a formerly starbucks addicted consumer.

NOT FREE THOUGH
As most people know, Starbucks does not offer free wifi. You have to subscribe and or pay a fee to access the web.... Not Free. That's the important part.

Changes
Don't be rude. Starbucks recently switched to pay wi-fi. The reviewer probably wrote that when it was still free to surf the web at Starbucks.

NOT Free
Starbucks access is NOT free - this site is to point out "FREE" WiFi access points -- that's what the big blue lettes at the top of the page say. Hello?
