HOURS CHANGE
No longer open 24 hours. As of today 6:00 AM - 2:00 AM. (I think it's a bad move. Perhaps they don't have customers during this time, but a lot of those who come between 11 and 2 only come because it's open for a while. Brought down the Pharmacy Cafe too)

WiFi and plug in too
This place is my favorite of all hotspots in the PDX metro area. They are friendly, the coffee is great, the sandwiches are great, and the internet access is superb. They even have plugs for higher speed access than you can get with wifi. $2.50 minimum, but that's for all you can use. Usually some good conversation can be had if you are interested. I can't go on enough about this place, I have used it as my office when I wanted to meet consulting clients, and many of them have come back again and again without me.

Awesome Spot...
Ok, so far after digging around a little online for a coffee shop or some other 24 hr establishment that has free-wi-fi this spot popped up. I've been back 3 times. I just jump on one of the many buses that goes over the bridge from downtown over to Fireside - and the buses run late too... till like 1:00am. Works out great when I just can't deal with sitting around at home and want to be out and about and it helps that the coffee is great too! ...did I just ramble on?

great plece to study
I've been here twice to study and get some work done. Connection has always been fantastic and once you cover the cheap $2.50 min. purchase the never bother you. I've hung around for hours and the crowds are friendly. It is a great WI-FI location.

Better & Worse
I've had very good and very bad wifi experiences. Sometimes everything works perfectly. Sometimes you can see strong network signal but cannot even get a DHCP lease. Seems to be their hardware. Good crowd, though. The unofficial home of the PDX LUG as well.

Awesome "lodge" worth a stop
I discovered the Fireside Lodge while looking for a place for late night study. Well let me tell you, this place is perfect. Aside from it's somewhat cheezy hunting lodge theme, the coffee is great and the crowd is a quiet, respectful group all with laptops blazing or using one of the computers provided by the lodge. There are a lot of students who study at the Lodge since OHSU, Portland State, and PCC are all a rocks throw away, which may explain the intelligible conversation and intense study habits of the regulars. Far and away it's my favorite wireless hub in Portland.
