Cake Shop

152 Ludlow, 10002

Type: Coffeeshop / Cafe Hours: Open late

Cozy little coffeeshop/record shop/live music venue in the Lower East Side. Cozy. Highly recommended for chilling and using the laptop. Good plugs. Solid connection. Better-than-average music on the stereo. Excellent!

I love this place!

This place is awesome. It's never too crowded, but there is always someone coming and going. Great place to get work done. Outlets are easily accessible. The music was good earlier today, but right now not so much. Wireless is fast. runaway dorothy New York, NY 10009 [em] dave@runawaydorothy.com [ww] runawaydorothy.com [ms] myspace.com/runawaydorothy [blg] runawaydorothy.blogspot.com

Agree about DJ

I def agree about the music selection. Way too often the music there is so bad that it almost hurts. What makes it worse is that they blast it so loud that even with headphones it's hard to drown out.

Swank!

It's nice. I like it.

FIRE THE DJ

WORST MUSIC EVERY AT A COFFEE SHOP.

Worst. Music. Ever.

I love this place and I'm here almost daily. But I swear, the music they play? Awful. Or, more frequently, unremarkable until someone puts on a thirty-minute track of loud guitar-drone monotony or glitchy-squeal-rock horror. Ugh.

Flaky Wifi

It's a shame that the wifi has been so flaky the past few times I've been here. Argh! There's an open node available in the shop that starts "04Z4101..." If you can get on that, it's much more reliable than the "cake shop" access point.

Great place!

Yeah, so I'm here, like, every day, now, to work. It's great. Highly recommended. (Except when the record store DJ person blasts the noise rock a bit too hard.)
