Ace Bar

531 East 5th Street (Btwn Ave A & B), 10009

Type: Bar Hours: Noon - 4 AM 7 DAYZ 365

Awesome Free Wi-Fi with plenty of AC Plugs & a daytime menu so you can start with coffee & ramp up to booze as the day progresses. They also provide ìlaptop cozysî which are small rubber mats to put under your laptop to ensure no liquid seeps underneath. Ace is famous for itís way cool antique lunchbox collection and stellar jukebox, which Rolling Stone magazine calls ìbest in NYCî. There is also real darts (yes the type that can put an eye out), pinball, pool, networked Buckhunter, and board games galore. This place rocks!

Be careful

The comment above is obviously written by a staff member of Ace. The wifi is good and quick. This is the only truth. Seating is dismal - there are booths in the back but there is absolutely no light, therefore I could not even find an outlet. This is NOT a place to come to chill unless you plan on happy hour - this is NOT a cafe. In fact, they didn't even have coffee when I got here. I hope you like bar music, since it is blaring at all hours.

Dark during the day

I went there during the day on a Saturday and it was awfully dark and pretty much completely empty. Sort of creepy. Doesn't look like a bad place on the whole, but, well, maybe it'd be better in the eveningtime.
