Pastery selection varies daily including the house specialty Boma Creme Cake, an excellent Sweet Potato muffin and a preserved-filled "Tanzanian muffin" and others. There are also tasty sandwiches and salads and a full menu of coffee drinks as well as African wines and beers! Lovely environment, beautiful french doors (open during nice weather) allow lots of natural light and street watching. In the big, comfortable wicker chairs, it feels like surfin the net in your own island getaway. Check local flyers for info on cultural happenings, many of which take place right there at the cafe.

It hasn't changed in months so once you plug it into your card settings you won't have to change for a while. Great food and even better prices: hot & cold buffet $3.99/lb, individual pizza + 16 oz. soda $4.95, etc. The place is a bit noisy from their expanisve speaker system. And there's only 2 people who even know how to handled network issues. If you can connect to the router but not get to Internet, just tell them to restart the router - has worked EVER time for me!

I found this place surfing the web today. I don't even really know the name of it. I think its Gramstand. The drinks are good and the internet connection is speedy. It's a nicer cafe, so it's not filled with muchy people, sucking up free internet. I noticed that most customers there buy a lot when they camp out on the internet. The regular internet users there are big supporters and that is cool. I'll be on of them... hence this blog.

Greenwich Treehouse

It's a bar that turns into a cafe in the am. Normally it's hard to get a place to pull double duty but the Treehouse has a trick up its sleeve. The espresso machine is mounted on a hydraulic lift. The bar has a hinged section that the machine gets raised and lowered thru depending on the time of day. It's always turned on, even in the down/evening position, so you can get your coffee fix any time. The 6 beers on tap are: Guinness, Sam Adams, Smithwicks, Blue Moon, Stella and a Seasonal or special guest beer. Remember Caffe Dell Artista? Well the Treehouse is in the same spot and most of the old furniture is still there. The vibe has been change a bit in the back room by the addition of 3 video games. 'Buck Hunter', 'Lethal Enforcer' & 'PGA Golf'. The little private room in the back with the book shelf hasn't changed at all. The best feature has got to be the front window bar that looks out on the avenue. There are a couple of handy outlets there for laptop users. If you are walking down the avenue at night you'll notice a green logo spinning on the sidewalk. Of course there is Free Wifi with no password needed. There is pretty much something for everyone at this cool bar. Get to it before it the crowds find it.
