This place closed unfortunately in late 06 or early 07. In the place on the map, though, is Tea Leaf Tapioca, which has nice sandwiches and smoothies. It's open for lunch and the afternoon.

Luving it!
I frequent Seattle's Best in Austin Texas (the one at 5th and Lamar) so when I came here for thanksgiving I was looking for something just like that. I looked at Little Italy and Lollipop Tea Zone ... I didn't like the surrounding areas very much. I went to Agora, and they were okay, but a little too unpolished for me (the lighting there is poor though, plus their wireless cut out, so I had to leave). Then I came to Diedrich's and I felt right at home. :) The wireless signal is strong and the ambience is exactly what I like (that bright, polished uptowny Barne's & Nobles/Starbucksy feel). The seats next to the door are right by the vents (cooold!) so bring a jacket in case you're stuck there. The place is packed and its the Friday after Thanksgiving (UT just beat A&M ... yeaaaah!), so I imagine on regular days it would be hard to find a spot to seat (Maximum occupancy sign says 78). I'm only here for the weekend, but I'm glad to be able to get a few hours of work in on my "holiday". Overall a very positive experience, I might just make more trips to Houston now.

Lesser Demi God
The map is wrong, this location is actually at Bay Area Blvd and El Camino Real (in the blockbuster and heb shopping center).

great place!
This is a great little coffee shop! Best coffee I've found in the area. Cool music, neat people, and FREE internet! It's as good as Riverside coffee shops; for real coffee people!
