A great place for free wireless - the wireless has been spotty in my experience but if you ask the workers, they will reset the router if necessary. A nice coffeehouse with decent amount of power outlets. No smoking inside but smoking outside on the patio.

It's okay.

This place is nice. The wireless works without any problem and there is seating inside and outside if you want to smoke. Sometimes bums come in and ask for change though.

Luving it!

Please disregard duplicate posting for Bay Area Location. The review is meant for Diedrich's at Westheimer. I frequent Seattle's Best in Austin Texas (the one at 5th and Lamar) so when I came here for thanksgiving I was looking for something just like that. I looked at Little Italy and Lollipop Tea Zone ... I didn't like the surrounding areas very much. I went to Agora, and they were okay, but a little too unpolished for me (the lighting there is poor though, plus their wireless cut out, so I had to leave). Then I came to Diedrich's and I felt right at home. :) The wireless signal is strong and the ambience is exactly what I like (that bright, polished uptowny Barne's & Nobles/Starbucksy feel). The seats next to the door are right by the vents (cooold!) so bring a jacket in case you're stuck there. The place is packed and its the Friday after Thanksgiving (UT just beat A&M ... yeaaaah!), so I imagine on regular days it would be hard to find a spot to seat (Maximum occupancy sign says 78). I'm only here for the weekend, but I'm glad to be able to get a few hours of work in on my "holiday". Overall a very positive experience, I might just make more trips to Houston now.

What a place!

My friend seems to know all the kewl coffee shops to hang at and this was one pretty spiffy place to chill! It was hella cold when I last visited but none the less the coffee made up for it. Some of the STRONGEST coffee I've had anywhere, great pick me up! Then I had an iced lemonaide and that too was hella strong! lol~XD But it was very much to my liking. They sure don't skip out on making you a great cup of joe. :)

Big C

My cuz flew in from NYC and just riding around montrose we stumbled upon this place on Westheimer. Great Coffee. Great Atmosphere. Great People. WIFI did not work until we were leaving the street by the school. We both have new powerbooks and were disappointed. Next time we come the WiFi better work better, my bluetooth connection is slow as hell. Macs Rule!!!

good stuff

awesome environment to sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee while surfing the net. the staff holds a positive attitude unlike any other coffee pub in houston!

airport extreme works great

my iBook G4 w/ airport extreme works great. using it now @ Diedrich's

Problems hooking up

Had trouble hooking up my iBook at this location. The Videosity system would try to send me to a server to establish a log in name, but it would just run and run trying to connect. Any hints? I'd like to try again.

Great chill place...friendly staff...def worth a visit...

its nice

its nice to sit back and surf. my only problem was with the teen youth whom inquired about the wifi being free (he had a napster shirt on) ;D
